How Does a PPF Calculator Work?
The Public Provident Fund (PPF) calculator helps you determine the maturity value of your PPF account. It assumes that you deposit a fixed amount every year at the start of the financial year. The interest is compounded annually and added to your principal.
PPF Rules & Limits
- Minimum Investment: You must deposit at least ₹500 per financial year to keep the account active.
- Maximum Investment: The maximum deposit eligible for tax benefits under Section 80C is ₹1,50,000 per financial year.
- Tenure: The minimum lock-in period is 15 years. You can extend it in blocks of 5 years.
- Tax Benefits: PPF falls under the EEE (Exempt-Exempt-Exempt) category, meaning your principal, interest, and maturity amount are entirely tax-free!
